Domingosiete was conceptualized as an outlet for some of the finest musicians in Los Angeles to explore and learn various Latin American roots music and compose original works. The Cuban Son of the oriente region / Son Montuno, the Colombian Cumbia, Mexican Norteño and Bolero are the styles that planted the group musically.
What eventually developed is what is now a characteristic Domingosiete sound: Classic and Modern aesthetics perfectly synthesized. Domingosiete has been acclaimed for its ability to transcend time, space, and culture and produce some of the most authentic music that hails from abroad and at home in Los Angeles. This ability is also apparent in their own compositions that are based deeply in tradition but tinged with a distinct urban, Los Angeles feel. |
